Powder coating has quickly become one of the most popular alternatives to traditional paint coatings. This surface finishing method uses a dry powder applied electrostatically as a coating. We then cure the part in an oven at 350 to 425°F to form a solid, durable finish. Powder coating not only looks great but also lasts longer and protects against corrosion. To further improve corrosion resistance for weather-exposed components, we apply a Zinc/Epoxy Base Coat primer before the final color, which dramatically increases corrosion resistance and overall durability.
Wehrli Custom Powder Coating is housed under the same roof as Wehrli Custom Fabrication. We have 4 state-of-the-art powder spray booths, 1 ceramic coating booth, and 7 curing ovens. Our booths and ovens are from Global Finishing Solutions, and we use GEMA Powder Coat Guns. Our spray booths are 20 ft long by 10 ft wide. Our wet booth/ceramic booth is 12 ft long by 10 ft wide. Our ovens are 20 ft long by 8 ft wide. We also have a 20 ft long by 10 ft wide blast room.
