Love the lines of your classic GM Square Body truck, but find the original powertrain lacking in performance, reliability, and economy? Sure, you could convert the original engine to EFI or look to LS or LT swap it to bring things up to more current standards, but neither of those options is going to provide the torque, efficiency, and driving experience that you get behind the wheel of a diesel. Here at WCFab, our business was started by working on and modifying GM Duramax Diesel engines for increased performance and we've always been passionate about Square Bodies - so bringing those two passions together only seemed natural.
This kit provides you with a specially engineered set of heavy duty mounts that will allow you to bolt a LB7/LLY/LBZ/LMM Duramax donor engine out of a 2001-2010 Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra 2500 / 3500 HD truck into your 1973-1987 3/4 or 1 Ton GM C/K Square Body Truck Chassis (Chevy C20, C30, K30) to support your conversion project.
CAD Designed, Precision Laser Cut and CNC Bent, and Professionally Welded Motor mounts bolt in to factory location on Square Body frame rail
No body lift required - engine height and placement keeps all accessories inside the engine compartment
Slight trimming of the cab pinch seam may be needed on some applications depending on turbo & down pipe selection
If your truck does NOT have a suspension lift, lower engine oil pan clearance/modification will be required. 4WD trucks with a suspension lift require no oil pan modification.
Requires use of 1 ton style brake booster on cab. 3/4 ton brake booster will not clear.
Recommended for use together with our Allison / ZF6 Transmission Crossmember Kit for 1973-1987 GM C/K Square Body Chassis (WCF100177)
Aluminum Radiator, Electric Fans, and Air to Air intercooler with core support mounting available separately.
